90 integra manual transmission leaking black oil from front of bell housing?

i heard i little noise one day and it started leaking oil really bad.so i got under neath the car saw that it was coming rigth out of my bell housing so i removed the debris cover to see the flywheel and its just pouring right out from under neath the flywheel in the bell housing.now my car still runs great and .the tranny dosent slip or make any noise at all.90 integra manual transmission leaking black oil from front of bell housing?

if it's on the engine side of the flywheel, that'd most likely be the rear main engine seal - check your engine oil, and check it often, until you are able to fix that seal.





If it's on the transmission side of the flywheel, that'd most likely be the Transmission input shaft seal - same thing with that, check the fluid, and check it often, make sure you keep it topped off until you're able to replace that seal.90 integra manual transmission leaking black oil from front of bell housing?

It does sound like a rear main seal on the crankshaft. You'll have to split the engine and transmission apart to get at the main seal--not a very back-yard friendly project. I'd get a good shop to do the work and it would be a good time to replace the clutch if it's showing any wear since they'll be doing most of the labor just splitting the engine and trans anyway. I have an '89 Integra with 180k miles on it and it runs just fine and has never let me down.
