I have a 1997 Eldorado Cadillac of which oil gaskets are dried out & the car leaks oil?

on the floor. What is the least expensive way to fix this problem. Please Give some inexpensive suggestions.I have a 1997 Eldorado Cadillac of which oil gaskets are dried out %26amp; the car leaks oil?
firstly, if its a brown oil its engine oil and if its a transparent red its transmission or power steering, secondly found out exactly where the oil is leaking from, i can only guess its most likely engine oil and leaking from the oil sump, this is a square tray with about 12 bolts bolting it the the bottom of the engine, get a new oil sump gasket then remove the bolts on the sump, be aware that oil will come out as you loosen them, then replace the gasket on the edge of the oil sump after removing the old one and bolt back on evenly and tightly, all this will cost you about $15 US for the gasket depending on what type of car it is, if the oil is power steering or tranny or is leaking from somewhere else just email me from my profile page and i will tell you how to fix the other leaks or i can give you a more detailed guide...I have a 1997 Eldorado Cadillac of which oil gaskets are dried out %26amp; the car leaks oil?
there is only one way to fix it properly. put in new seals. If you want it to do it cheaper, do it yourself or take it to an independent shop. dealerships charge more but are more expert. you can shop around for the best deal on parts but there are no real shortcuts you can take that wouldnt drastically shorten the life of your car.
find someone who works on cars at a dealership that wants to make some side money.
