My car leaks oil only when the car is running, I saw a bottle of stuff at Wal-mart as thick as honey...?

that claims to stop leaks. Will this stuff work or not?My car leaks oil only when the car is running, I saw a bottle of stuff at Wal-mart as thick as honey...?
Most people refer to that stuff as snake oil and it works if your car is burning oil (sometimes) but not for a gasket leak. If it is the rear seal it is better to have it replaced. My car leaks oil only when the car is running, I saw a bottle of stuff at Wal-mart as thick as honey...?
It is only an oil thickener that uses outdated viscosity improvers that breakdown quickly under engine operation, then they are no longer doing their job.

You can get better results by using a thicker oil.

Most engine oils cause oil seal hardening.

The best bet is to get it fixed and then use an engine oil called Lubrication Engineers, it is the only engine oil I know of that doesn't cause oil seal hardening

do u need this car? is it important to you? do u depend upon it every day?

if a relative was sick and needed surgery but u found a bottle of ';human repair all'; in a store would u buy it and try it?

theres a multi-million dollar industry out there for people who think a $5 bottle of something will ';fix'; whats wrong with their car...

p.t.barnum said there's a sucker born every minute...have the car fixed, leave the snake oil to the snake oil salesman...i have heard so many horror stories of people buying that gunk and having the motor sieze a week later..they take the snake oil company to court and guess what the outcome is...a judge decides the car was sick before the owner bought the snake oil, and that the snake oil isn't responsible since it has a disclaimer on its info tag...

seal repairs will mebbe cost u $500...a new motor after gunk destroyes it willcost u how much...
if u buy that stuff at wall mart all your doing is buying your self some more time before it really does break and cause a bigger mess if it's the rear seal aka the rear main seal then u have to take the transmission out of the car to get to it and i would take it to a shop it's a lot of work to do in the drive way not saying that u can't do it but that's you just fix it right
Timing is everything. Good thing it is the last weekend for cash for clunkers. Time to trade up.
