Car has leaking oil and transmission problem? Idea of what it is?

My car has 2 problems and theyre both bothering me. 1 problem is that it leaks oil, this happens only after i park the car, the car was working fine but all of a sudden it started leaking oil 2/3 months ago from the front. ITs a cadillac 1996 seville sls. The next problem is that it has a incorrect gear ratio, (it wont switch into 4th gear) any idea on what the cost could be to fix one or the other?Car has leaking oil and transmission problem? The oil leak and trans problem may be related. Is the oil leak coming from the trans? You can determine this by placing a pan under the area of the leak and checking the color of the fluid. If the fluid is red it's trans fluid, and this leak may be causing your trans problems. Check this first, and if it is a trans fluid leak you can have new seals installed at a transmission place, like amco, for about $100.00. Taking the car to a dealer will cost you big bucks.Car has leaking oil and transmission problem? Idea of what it is?
It would help if we knew where the oil was leaking from. It could be as simple as a loose oilpan screw.
Oil leak will require inspection. Since it leaks when parked should be easy to locate once the car is on the lift. You can then get a quote to repair.

Trans problem may be harder. See if there are any trouble codes stored in the computer to help diagnose the trans problem. If not you will need a good trans shop.
