Car leaks oil when running,recently was smoking from exhaust manifold while driving, engine was covrd in oil?

(1992 Plymouth Sundance) So recently i was driving and i noticed that car was smoking under the hood. When i pulled over, there was oil all over the entire engine, just covered. The exhaust manifold was smoking like crazy. I checked for leaks, and there is a slight leak only when the car is running. The actual oil level didn't seem to fluctuate noticeably. Today i just got an oil chaange. you probably blown a valve pan gasket or the pcv valve is stopped up. i think i would have fixed the oil leak before i got a oil change.
an oil change is NEVER a bad idea. most likely a valve cover gasket.
