I have a 2004 ford ranger xlt which is leaking oil from the tranny?

its not much oil just a few drop almost ready to fall. its right after the trannsmission connects to the drive shaft.my automotive teacher said i maybe need to replace the seal. does anyone else know what this problem may be?I have a 2004 ford ranger xlt which is leaking oil from the tranny?
It's the seal, nothing else...


Go ahead and replace the seal, it's a $5.00 part. Make sure you coat the surface of the seal with transmission fluid before you put the drive shaft back in.I have a 2004 ford ranger xlt which is leaking oil from the tranny?

the only thing that could be leaking right there is the rear transmission seal, what your auto teacher said! i would go ahead and replace that if you don't know how you could take it to the shop and they'll hook ya up,
