I was looking to buy a car and oil is leaking from the oil pump, how much does it cost to fix that?

the car is a 95 mitsubishi eclipse, and it seems like a great deal for the car and it's only problem is an oil leak, and I was wondering about how much that kind of thing would cost to get fixed?I was looking to buy a car and oil is leaking from the oil pump, how much does it cost to fix that?
most oil pumps are inside the timing chain cover if you tear it down that far you might as well replace the timing chain or belt and the bottom main seal. or if it is out side mounted to the motor, driven off the serpentine belt then it is easy to replaceI was looking to buy a car and oil is leaking from the oil pump, how much does it cost to fix that?
I advise not buying it may have permanent damage done to it.
Ask a dealer - But it may be wise to avoid the car and look for another without the problem
I wouldn't buy it. The former owner might have run it low on oil and did major damage to the engine.
buy the oil pan gasket and find a mechanic and ask how much to change it.I would not think over $100.00 or ask the dealer or person to split the cost and you will buy the car.
