My car is leaking oil, at least 1 quart a week! poss valve cover gasket or oil pump! How can I tell?

I have oil starts right underneath the valve cover gasket, but the majority of the oil is on the frame and everything else on the right side of the bottom of the motorMy car is leaking oil, at least 1 quart a week! poss valve cover gasket or oil pump! How can I tell?
9 times out of ten it is the gasket, i would wash the engine bay and check the oil filter, and pan then run your hand around the base of the Valve cover after running for a bit.

if you have to change the valve cover gasket don't worry its an easy jobMy car is leaking oil, at least 1 quart a week! poss valve cover gasket or oil pump! How can I tell?
Sounds like multiple leaks and possibly consumption from within the motor.

The oil pump cannot cause an oil leak. The best thing to do is shampoo the engine, underneath too then monitor the leak closely. 1 quart a week is a massive leak, shouldn't take long to find.
try to see where the oil is leaking from,

can go to a car wash that spays the undercarriage.

though in my experience its usually the gasket.
Could be your gasket. It's on the frame cause the oil has to run somewhere. Try washing the motor then chase the leak from there.
it,s probably the valve pan gaskets leaking and running down on the frame.
probably the gasket but check the oil filter to be sure it's tight
