Oil pan on a 350 motor has a leak is it simple to replace can anyone do it?

i wouldnt call it simple if u havent done any mechanical stuff on yer car because its probly the tuffest gasket in these engines because of the mains (front and rear) and not getting those in correctly is not gonna help u in any way but main thing is if u can drop the pan from the motor without lifting the motor..most 80s chevy 4x4s are no problem..especially when theyre a lifted truck however a impala or someything of that nature u will need to lift the engine a ways to drop it outOil pan on a 350 motor has a leak is it simple to replace can anyone do it?
Absolutely... if you can get it up in the air a bit it should be 6-10 bolts new gasket refill oil.

Piece of cake. Make sure thats where your leak is from first.Oil pan on a 350 motor has a leak is it simple to replace can anyone do it?
just take it to walmart they have guys that do it for a living thats what i did with myn and they were great
The trick is getting to the pan. If you have the lift, it is not that hard. A good garage will have a lift and can do it. If it is not leaking that bad (1 quart every 1000 miles) then you might live with it. It might not just be the oil pan that is leaking. It could be the rear bearing.
No not anyone can do it you have to line up the gaskets just right and tighten up the bolts in a sequences.
Does depend on what type of vehicle it is. BUT, if you can get it on a lift or at height on jacks that is comfortable to work in it should just be a matter of draining the oil, getting a new oil pan gasket, and oil pan.

simply drain

remove old pan

scrape gasket off the pan and the area that it is housed on

gunk up the new pan and apply the gasket

then screw the sucker in place

tighten the screws to the proper torque

add new oil and you should be set to go

be sure that there are no other gaskets or odds and ends that are in the area that you might have to replace if replacing the pan.
It depends on what kind of vehicle it's in.
