Can bad driving cause oil leaks?

I recently drove for about 3 or 4 hours in my girlfriends car. Afterward she noticed an oil leak for the first time, although it may have been there before. I drove about 80mph in her Toyota Echo. Not brand new but not an old car. I forget the year. Is driving fast a possible cause of oil leaks? Or putting strain on the engine? She seems to think so.Can bad driving cause oil leaks?
Nope. If an engine is designed well, it is designed to withstand driving conditions far greater than anything the car is capable of. If aggressive driving DID cause an oil seal or tube to fail, then it is a manufacturing problem, and they made the car poorly in the factory. Can bad driving cause oil leaks?
no not unless the vehicle has already had problems with oil leaks. lots of strain does damage the car overall, but shouldnt lead to oil leaks after a few hours of driving. so no.
Ditto what AA said. If you drove the car hard enough to blow it up now that would be a hard driving induced oil leak.
Not really. Make sure the PCV valve is clean %26amp; working.
you did,nt cause it ! parts just get old and starts to leak.
