Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel, oil leak?

Hi, my car has started leaking quite a lot of oil, but only when stationary. It had a service a month ago, and all was fine, then I had the clutch replaced last week and it has leaked ever since. Any ideas if this could be connected, or if not, what it could be and how much I'm looking at having to pay to fix it? Its a w reg (2000) if that helps. Thanks!Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel, oil leak?
Is the oil leaking out black in colour? If so it's from the engine. If it isn't black (it could be brown and have a foul smell like cat's pee) it's probably gearbox oil, possibly leaking from a driveshaft oil seal in the gearbox, when the clutch was replaced they would have to remove the driveshafts first in order to remove the gearbox, both seals should be replaced as a matter of course when removing both driveshafts. Where i work this is done as part of the job every time work like this is undertaken. I would take it back to whoever did the work, if one of the seals is leaking agree to pay for the seals but i would refuse point blank to pay any extra labour for fitting them. Any reputable garage should have known to replace them as part of the job.Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel, oil leak?
Hi I have just had aclutch fitted to my 206, Ihad same problem. Take it back to garage get them to fit two new

half shaft oilseals FOC they should have replaced them

before they refitted g/box.
Take the car back to the garage were you had the clutch changed. Tell them to sort the leak out.Don't let them fob you off.

Ja.
YOU HAVE ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION';

When the garage replaced your Clutch they more than likely did not fit a new ';Gasket'; hence the leak ';

Get it back and tell them ,YOU WANT IT REPAIRED';!

If you are in A.A. or R.A.C. TELL THEM AND THEY WILL HELP SORT OUT ANY PROBLEMS.
Take it to the garage that changed the clutch, and tell them that the driveshaft oil seals are leaking and that you would like them to do the job properly.
most likely if its an engine oil leak its one of two places, the oil filter, this is inside the bonnet and looks like a round can about 5 inches across and 4 inches long with the end looking like a huge nut shape it tightens clockwise you can do this by hand...see if its loose...but ensure the engine is cold as you do not want to burn your hand. so if that is ok..its a bit of a crawl under the car...now you are looking for the sump nut....this is a nut about 19mm or 17 mm and is usually at the back of the sump..which is the fancy name for the metal box that is on the bottom of the engine...there is only one..and it is usually central. lay some card on the floor...and lie at the front and try to reach it...to tighten it you need a ring spanner...that is a spanner that has no opening...19mm or 17mm is common.

if its neither of these then l would get a garage to check as it could be an oil seal....they have a rubber skirt and that can deteriorate over time.....good luck..btw the oil filler cap on the top of the engine is on ok....just a thought
It sounds like the Crank Shaft rear main oil seal, could have been damaged when the new clutch was fitted.
Well, if they changed the clutch and it started peacing oil therafter it does not take an einstein to make the connection.

You may well find the garage see that you are a girlie and start feeding you bullshit.

So it might be worth having someone knowledgeable stick their head under the bonnet and see what is going on before you get to the garage.

Far harder for a garage to deny something specific.

HTH

They are good cars by the way.

I don't know there's a direct connection between the clutch and oil leaks. They should be separate systems. Is this the first time you went to that mechanic? If so, they might have seen a female and done shenanigans to drum up business. Have someone you trust look at it. A common place for oil to leak is valve cover gaskets, which are reasonably easy and inexpensive to fix. It could be a leak in the clutch fluid as well, which would be a direct connection. This would be an error on the folks that ';fixed'; your car. Again, the key thing is to have a trustworthy person to look at it for you.
