Im trying to figure out,why my car is still leaking oil?

My car had a stripped oil drain bolt.I had went and bought a new one at the auto store.I put the new one on and tightened it as tight as it can go,but it still drips oil.I was wondering what could be the problem.Should I tighten it some more?Im trying to figure out,why my car is still leaking oil?
Did the plug have an o-ring on it?...if it did...then try a different o-ring.

you don't want to tighten it too much..

if the other bolt was stripped..then it may be that the threads in the oil pan are stripped as well... if you wanted to go thru the trouble...you could always re tap the threads in the pan...or get a thread repair kit....called a heli-coil kit.

but I'd try a different o-ring first..may just not be seating right

Best thing..try the simplest route first.Im trying to figure out,why my car is still leaking oil?
the oil pan gasket is leaking. Probably the original oil pan gasket on your car. Gaskets dry out over time and crack. If you know how to work on a car go to a auto part store and tell them you need a oil pan gasket. If not take it to a mechanic to put on a new oil pan gasket.
get a plug thats self tapping and make sure its got the nylon washer on it, try that and see if it leaks.
I'm gonna guess from the sounds of it that you may have stirpped the threads in the oil pan. I would consider tapping out the oil pan and installing a new plug. You should look for one with an O-ring on it when you get a new one. Hope this helps.
Is the drainplug leaking yet, -or something else ?? If it is the plug, you need to buy aluminum or copper gasket(s) (at car parts store)! They will crush down and fix the gap that still exists!

If elsewhere try ';no leak'; - available at WalMart (and elsewhere)-- costs around $8-9! This gets all the little leakes, and sometimes even front an rear seals! If this doesn't ';fix it'; you have a pretty bad leak,- and need to get it fixed! Otherwise you may loose too much oil and ';expire the engine'; !!
No, if you try tightening some more you could end up stripping the pan. You may have already done this, thats why you may be dripping oil. If you think your pan thread and bolt are good, then maybe you forgot to put the gasket on the bolt? Most aftermarket pan bolts require some kind of gasket, so make sure you have it. Cant think of anything else it could be. Hope that helps
No you can damage an oil pan by over tightening the drain plug. Some plugs have a gasket and some don't. there may also be another leak, and running down to the plug. like the pan gasket itself, or maby the rear main seal is no good. try cleaning the whole engine, then you can better see where the oil is coming from. If it is just the drain plug then go to any auto parts store and buy a gasket for the plug.
could be oil pan gasket or valve cover gasket
