I have a rover 25 it has an oil leak just in front of the engine .?

the oil leak seems to have happened when i topped the car up with oil ??. when car is parked over night there is a leak just in front of engine . i no nothing about cars and how they work .i only drive them the leak is not that big but it is a leak a dont wont .i cleaned the surface under the car of oil and had a look it seems there is a white container the shape of a rounded bottom cup that says rover on it and ther is a buble on it that is burst .could this b the problem plz help ???I have a rover 25 it has an oil leak just in front of the engine .?
Maybe it started only since your last oil change service? There's a lot of reasons it might not be the front main engine seal which would be the more expensive to fix. But it could simply be an oil pressure sensor leaking or your oil filter leaking etc. A technician will very quickly see the problem and it may be easy to fix. If he can't see where the oil originates, he puts flourescent dye in the engine and shines a black light on it to reveal the source.I have a rover 25 it has an oil leak just in front of the engine .?
It is kind of difficult to determine from what you wrote.





But oil leak is NEVER a good thing. In fact it is a precursor to other failure. If you can't figure it out, get a mechanic even if you spend $$$. In the long run you will be saving $$ by not waiting for something bigger to break (from lack of oil).

the litle rounded cup your on about is the oil filter and it has a rust hole that is allowing oil to pass go to a garage and ask them to put on a new one, prob solved
